Said to be the longest in Japan, the 2.6km shopping street of Tenjinbashisuji has more than 600 eateries and shops selling traditional wares like knives, chinaware, kimono, tofu, and tea. Some have been operating since the 1800s, as this area flourished in the Edo and Meiji eras. Nearby the arcade the famous Tenjin Festival takes place in July, with a parade of shrines, performances, and outdoor stalls, attracting large crowds due to its lively atmosphere.
