A range of exhibits on general Japanese history and culture are displayed at this national history museum in the town of Sakura west of Narita Airport. Located where Sakura Castle formerly stood, the museum contains many items designated National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties, and exhibits are rotated monthly. Example themes include the gastronomy of Edo, and perspectives on Japan’s ancient burial mounds called kofun.
