Kagura is performed every week at the Kagura Monzen Toji Village and is the Shinto theatrical dance based on legends, performed by dancers dressed in gorgeous costumes and masks, and accompanied by traditional music. It is also a Shinto ceremony to pray for a good harvest, a good catch, and recovery from illness. Depending on the day, you may be allowed to try on a Kagura costume after a night performance. A museum with Kagura costumes on display tells about the performance’s rich history, and restaurants, accommodations and even hot springs can also be found in the Kagura Monzen Toji Village.
